Il Country Music Association Awards noto semplicemente come CMA è l'annuale cerimonia di musica country che si tiene presso la Bridgestone Arena di Nashville, nel Tennessee nel periodo di novembre. Condotto da Luke Bryan per la seconda volta con Peyton Manning come suo co-conduttore, la cerimonia è stata trasmessa in diretta su ABC e sarà presto disponibile per lo streaming su Hulu.

La cantautrice di Nashville, Lainey Wilson mercoledì sera è stata annunciata come cantante femminile dell'anno al 56° edizione dei CMA Awards. E non solo: l'artista nel corso della serata è stata anche vincitrice del CMA New Artist Award, un secondo trofeo ottenuto fra gioia e commozione. Si tratta infatti della prima vittoria della Wilson in ambedue le categorie: "la musica country per me e la mia famiglia era più che musica. Abbiamo vissuto le parole di quelle canzoni", ha confessato l'artista a The Advocate non molto tempo fa. La cantante inoltre ha ricevuto ben sei nomination ai 56th Annual Country Music Association Awards, diventando la quarto artista a ricevere sei o più nomination come candidata per la prima volta nella storia dei Country Awards.
