U2 – “ATOMIC CITY” da oggi su Radio Kiss Kiss

Gli U2 hanno registrato un brano inedito intitolato “ATOMIC CITY” prodotto da Jacknife Lee e Steve Lillywhite.
“ATOMIC CITY” è stato registrato al Sound City di Los Angeles e precede l’imminente serie di date della band allo Sphere di Las Vegas per celebrare il loro storico album del 1991 “ACHTUNG BABY”.
“ATOMIC CITY” è un omaggio di 3 minuti e mezzo allo spirito magnetico del post-punk degli anni ’70 con un cenno ai Blondie, il cui lavoro pionieristico con Giorgio Moroder ha ispirato e influenzato la band.
Bono dice: “È una canzone d’amore per il nostro pubblico… ‘dove siete voi è dove sarò io'”.
“ATOMIC CITY” è il soprannome con cui negli anni Cinquanta veniva chiamata Las Vegas, quando il fascino del nucleare era diffuso in tutta la nazione e la città si promuoveva come centro di turismo atomico per la sua vicinanza al Nevada Test Site.
Oltre alla canzone sarà disponibile da domani anche il video ufficiale diretto da Ben Kutchins con la direzione creativa di Tarik Mikou e Moment Factory Music.
Il video racconta l’esibizione che gli U2 hanno tenuto la scorsa settimana in piena notte nel centro di Las Vegas, lo stesso luogo di Fremont Street dove Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton e Larry Mullen Jr. hanno girato l’iconico video di “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” oltre 36 anni fa.
Gli U2 daranno il via domani, venerdi 29 settembre, a “U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere“.
Il programma di 25 date vedrà la più grande rock band del mondo inaugurare la nuova venue più all’avanguardia del mondo.
Quest’ultimo ambizioso progetto celebra l’acclamato album Achtung Baby e il relativo ZOO TV Tour, che nel 1991 ha rotto gli schemi e ha consolidato la reputazione della band come artisti che hanno costantemente superato i limiti delle performance dal vivo, con spettacoli rivoluzionari che abbracciano le più recenti tecnologie e innovazioni.
