Me, Myself & I è il nuovo singolo della band pop-rock multiplatino 5 Seconds of Summer, che sarà contenuto nel quinto album in studio del gruppo, “5SOS5“, in uscita il 23 settembre.
La nuova canzone parla della fine di una storia ed ha una grande spinta emotiva. Le influenze sono pop e punk, con riff angoscianti e un coro capace di fare cantare tutti.
Me, Myself & I è un brano prodotto e scritto insieme a Jason Evigan (Maroon 5, Dua Lipa, David Guetta, Jason Derulo), Jon Bellion (Justin Bieber, Halsey, Lauv), Pete Nappi (GAYLE, Madison Beer), e Mick Coogan (Charlotte Lawrence, Carlie Hanson).
«È molto emozionante avere in questo album – a cui abbiamo dedicato gli ultimi 2 anni – la canzone “Me, Myself & I”», dichiara Luke Hemmings. «Siamo tutti grandi fan di Jon Bellion e quando ci ha condiviso l’idea, ci siamo subito sentiti vicini ad essa. Molti dei testi che stavamo scrivendo erano estremamente introspettivi e questa canzone era il pezzo di puzzle mancante dell’album. L’abbiamo poi portata a termine insieme a Jon, Jason Evigan, Pete Nappi e Mick Coogan. “Me, Myself & I” parla di come molto spesso ci si sente capaci di fare qualsiasi cosa da soli, senza aver il bisogno di nessuno, per poi arrivare invece a capire che spesso con questo atteggiamento si allontanano le cose più belle della vita. Amiamo questa canzone e speriamo che anche le altre persone riescano a sentirla propria, così come abbiamo fatto noi».
