La superstar nominata ai Grammy e certificata Diamante, Teddy Swims, dà il via a un capitolo completamente nuovo della sua carriera con il singolo “Mr. Know It All”. Il brano è un pezzo accattivante e apparentemente spensierato che affronta il dolore dell’autosabotaggio sentimentale.
“Mr. Know It All” fonde groove vintage, riff rock anni ’80 e una produzione moderna e lussureggiante, creando uno sfondo cupo ma sofisticato per i testi introspettivi dell’artista. Tra archi pizzicati e chitarre avvolgenti, Swims canta un ritornello brutale: “Avrei dovuto dirti che lo sentivo arrivare, come se guardassi in una palla di cristallo / Quando mi innamoro è con la sfortuna, oh, vorrei non essere Mr. Know It All”
Swims ha dichiarato:
“Il brano esplora l’idea che l’amore possa diventare una contraddizione che si autoavvera. Quando credi di sapere già come andrà a finire, ti proteggi mantenendo le distanze, e proprio quel distacco diventa la causa del fallimento. È una riflessione su come la paura e il controllo possano silenziosamente distruggere qualcosa di reale”.
