Mancano solo due giorni all'uscita di "Thousand Miles", il nuovo singolo del rapper e cantautore australiano The Kid Laroi, pseudonimo di Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard, arrivato al grande pubblico dopo il successo di "Stay" in collaborazione con la pop star canadese Justin Bieber.

Annunciato attraverso il suo profilo Instagram seguito da quasi 4 Milioni di followers, The Kid Laroi è pronto venerdì 22 Aprile a lanciare il suo nuovo singolo e tutti i suoi fan sono già letteralmente impazziti. Tra i suoi riconoscimenti, infatti, Laroi vanta un APRA Award, due ARIA Awards e un National Indigenous Music Award, ed è stato nominato per due American Music Awards, due Grammy Awards, tre MTV Video Music Awards e quattro People's Choice Awards.

"Pronti?" così scrive l'artista come descrizione del post; un video di sei secondi che lo ritrae seduto su una panchina in un parco mentre mangia un gelato al cioccolato e vestito di bianco, prima che un pianoforte a cosa rosso brillante cada dal cielo colpendolo. Lo schermo diventa nero e compare finalmente la data: Venerdì 22 Aprile. E l'estratto del video mostra anche ai fan più attenti una piccola anteprima del testo del nuovo singolo: "I was dead/ A thousand miles away" ovvero "Ero morto / A mille miglia di distanza".

"Thousand Miles" segna infatti il ritorno del rapper e produttore discografico di Sydney, appena diciottenne, dopo i successi di So Done, Diva con Lil Tecca, Without You, Go con Juice Wrld e poi la famosissima Stay con l'icona pop Justin Bieber, già sopracitato prima. E non è un caso quel successo, secondo Billboard, la canzone ha trascorso sette settimane nell'estate e nell'autunno del 2021 dominando Hot 100 Chart.
